Applications are invited from bonafide Indian citizens residing in India for hands-on training in Industry. The programme provides excellent opportunity to biotech/​bioinformatics students who have completed their education and intend to start their career in Industry to acquire practical skills and experience working on projects alongside industry experts as well as an opportunity to industry to identify potential candidates for their human resource requirements. The training will be for six months during which stipend will be paid to trainees and bench fee of @ Rs. 23,350/-per candidate will be paid to companies to cover the expenses towards training. The program is being implemented by DBT-HRD Project Management Unit at Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad on behalf of Department of Biotechnology.

Students with B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech./M.VSc./MBA in Biotechnology/​Bioinformatics and students admitted under DBT PG teaching program in Biotechnology. The degree should be from an Indian recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades completed in year 2022 – 23, 2023 – 24 or 2024 – 25.

Candidates will be selected based on computer based test conducted in multiple city/​centers across the country. Selection would be subject to meeting the eligibility criteria. Trainer company would be provided subject to availability.

Stipend structure: DBT will disburse a stipend @ Rs. 10,000/- per candidate per month upon successful completion of six months of training and assessment. Students will also get a minimum stipend of Rs. 9,000/- per month from trainer companies for the period of training, as per apprenticeship norms.

Certification: After completion of training, trainees will have to undergo an online ​‘Assessment’ conducted by Sector Skill Council. Trainees who will qualify the Assessment will be awarded ​‘Apprenticeship Certificate’ under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) by Sector Skill Council.
