Applications are invited for the post of Technology Scientist (DIA) at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms, Bangalore.

• Design and execute experiments involving microfluidic droplet manipulation and optical signal acquisition.
• Develop, optimise, and validate multiplexed single-cell assays for fluorescence and scatter signal detection in droplets.
• Interface with the engineering team to prototype, test, and improve the optofluidic instrument, including alignment of optical components and integration with microfluidic chips.
• Analyse complex data sets using custom algorithms and assist in refining signal processing pipelines for accurate droplet and cell characterisation.
• Lead troubleshooting and calibration protocols for hardware and software to ensure reproducibility and data quality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with biology, hardware, and software teams to translate biological requirements into assay formats.
• Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and technical reports for internal knowledge and IP development.
• Present findings in team meetings and support grant or publication efforts through data generation and interpretation.

Desirable Skills:

• Hands-on experience in microfluidic systems
• Proficiency in assay development for cell analysis, including flow cytometry, antibody labelling, and signal quantification.
• Familiarity with optical detection systems (e.g., photodetectors, lasers, filters, fluorescence optics).
• Experience in handling and aligning optical setups for excitation and detection in fluidic systems is highly desirable.
• Competence in data analysis using Python, experience with signal processing algorithms is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in experimental design and execution.
• Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team and learn new concepts quickly.

Contract position initially for 6 months, extendable based on performance evaluation.

Based on the candidate’s qualification and Experience.

Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Physics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.

1 – 5 years of relevant lab experience.
