Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow-Spinal Muscular Atrophy at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

Generate a zebrafish genetic model for spinal muscular atrophy by CRISPR gene editing, perform genetic, molecular and behavioural characterization of the mutants.

Key Responsibilities

• Breeding and maintaining zebrafish mutant lines, microinjections.
• Generating transgenic lines, live imaging of motor neurons.
• Cloning genes of interest from zebrafish.
• RNA in situ hybridizations, immunofluorescence, cell culture.
• Data analysis, image analysis.

MSc degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Zoology is required.

Candidates should have prior research experience of at least 6 months and should be competent in basic Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in theory and practice.
